Interns and volunteers are primarily needed to work on the Local Food Systems program out of our Berkeley office. Opportunities are flexible in terms of work content, structure, and scheduling. Come into our beautiful offices at the Brower Center one afternoon a week, pitch in at an event, or work with us to design a level and type of opportunity that works for you!

Volunteering

Volunteers help spread the word about fresh, local food at green festivals and other events around the Bay Area. Pass out the Eater's Guide to Local Food, get people to sign up for our mailing list, recruit new CAFF members, sell bumper stickers, and more! We are also looking for friendly, outgoing people to do outreach at local farmers markets. Contact us for more information or to get on our list of superstar volunteers extraordinaire.

Internships

More formal internship arrangements range from 3-30 hours per week and span the full range of Local Food Systems program activities. Examples of tasks that interns have helped with in the past: researching and compiling listings for online and print versions of the Eater's Guide to Local Food, assisting with advertising sales for the Eater's Guide, researching and writing profiles on CAFF grower members, doing public outreach, coordinating other volunteers at events, optimizing online communications, and creating marketing materials. Please note that all of CAFF's internship opportunities are unpaid at this time. Contact allyse@caff.org for more information about volunteering in our Bay Area location.
