Job: Part-Time Farm Coordinator

Area: Farm Operations

Reports To: Pandora Thomas/Owner & Richelle Johnson/Operations Manager

Pay: $25/hour

Hours: Part-time, 8-10 hours a week

Time Range: Monday-Friday. We’re looking at a start date the week of July 18, 2022. However, this will be determined by timing and finding the right candidate. TBD.

Earthseed Permaculture Center and Farm:

Envision a place where thousands of adults and youth annually reclaim their relationship to the Earth, their history and their future through learning about Afro-Indigenous Permaculture. Black-led and operated, EARTHseed Farm is a 501(c)2 and working organic certified farm. EARTHseed serves as an educational center to reconnect communities to Afro-Indigenous principles and practices for living in our world today. Current programming includes: experiential educational programs, events, retreats, workshops, U-Pick and wholesale.

 

Job Description: We are seeking a part-time farm coordinator Bilingual in English & Spanish to join our team. This person will carry out  tasks associated with our wholesale business and other office responsibilities. This person will need to work onsite at the farm on days we are shipping wholesale orders, at least three days a week, Monday, Thursday & Friday. However, these days may change based on customer needs and increase in orders. We are looking for someone who is adaptable and motivated to grow with our team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assists with wholesale business process: communicate between operations manager & farm manager during wholesale season/pick-up days; print specific labels and required paperwork for all wholesale orders; review checklist to make sure all orders meet shipping guidelines for each customer.
  • Regularly check Info email account and respond to inquiries in a timely manner and/or distribute messages to relevant team members.
    Answer the main phone for the farm, check messages and relay details to the appropriate person.
  • Establishes and maintains office files, tracks office supplies, and places orders for new supplies.
  • Meet and greet visitors, vendors and customers at the farm and provide general support.
  • Handle special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent
Positive can-do attitude
Must be organized and detailed oriented
Excellent communication skills. English fluency & Spanish proficiency required.
Experience with Microsoft Office (excel & word)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
