About LOF:

This project started 5-6 years ago with the passion to feed the community with-in Petaluma and the greater north bay.  We focus on delivering our vegetables and fruit to our CSA, Michelin Starred restaurants and local retail customers.  Growing year around (with some great time off around the holidays), biodiversity, medicinal perennials and CCOF certified are your ethos.  We strive to grow some of the best tasting vegetables for our clients and customers.  This is a no-tillage farm who develops permeant ever beds with mulch and a deep compost system.


– Work with owner on the farm plan which includes crops, livestock movement and bed development
– Harvesting, pack house management, crop planning, soil building
– Develop the vision of the future farm, better systems, less fertilization and increase soil health
– Maintain farm facilities, irrigation system, fences, and greenhouses
– Analyzing existing operations, crops, staff, and financial viability of crops
– Engage farmer training program as required
– Ensuring all staff and visitors adhere to safety and health regulations

Financial Management
– Formulate farm budget
– Hiring employees
– Assuring all costs are in line with produce, suggesting pricing for retail customers

Farm Manager Mandatory Requirements
– B.S. Agriculture business management, Plant Science or Agriculture Education related degree (able to substitute with years of experience)
– Strong knowledge of agriculture equipment, maintenance, and repair
– Knowledge of food safety procedures
– A Servant Leader with the capacity to restore a farming community
– Excellent communication skills with high empathy to connect with various audiences from diverse backgrounds.
– Desire to produce food of the highest nutritional and ecological quality with a growth mindset
– Authorized to work in the US
– Valid driver’s license

In addition, the ideal candidate will also have:

– Experience with building a new project from the ground up
– Strong interest in seeing more of our produce stay in the community

– Ability and willingness to be flexible with tasks assigned
– Moderate computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office suite, and Gmail
– A willingness to work consistent hours and weekends as necessary
