Website Occidental Arts & Ecology Center
Occidental Arts and Ecology Center is an 80-acre educational retreat center, organic farm, intentional community, and ecological preserve in West Sonoma County, California that has been helping to build the capacity of social and environmental organizations since 1994. OAEC has a diverse and interrelated suite of programs in research, demonstration, education, and advocacy and hosts strategic meetings for movement organizations and leaders. The lovingly-tended land acts as a classroom, cultural center, and networking hub for the Bay Area.
Each year, OAEC hires a cohort of enthusiastic interns to live and learn at OAEC for 11 months. Interns work 24 hours per week in one department – Program Administration, Facilities or Garden – and are immersed in the day-to-day running a thriving land-based non-profit. In exchange for their work, all interns are given a private, cozy place to live, organic meals, and use of all OAEC facilities (hot tub, swimming pond, etc.) Interns also receive free participation in the OAEC Permaculture Design Course, generous vacation and sick leave, plus a $300 monthly stipend. We work hard and play hard! Join us!
Visit our internships page to learn more about how to apply. Interviews begin October 15. Open until filled.
