The ESYP Stockton Farm Manager works with ESYP Stockton staff to develop and maintain the educational Edible Schoolyard Project Community Farm. The Farm Manager manages the 5.5 acre Edible Schoolyard Community Farm, supervises site improvements, crop planning, maintenance, and all other farm operations. This is a full-time, salaried position. The Stockton Farm Manager supervises the Farm Specialist, between 2 and 6 part time employees, and volunteers. The Stockton Farm Manager reports to the Stockton Program Director.
About the Farm
The Edible Schoolyard Project Community Farm is an established community farm in the Boggs Tract neighborhood on the south side of Stockton, CA. It sits on 5.5 acres of land owned by the Port of Stockton, leased to the Edible Schoolyard Project. The farm has approximately one hundred and fifty mature fruit trees, thirty two 400 sq ft plots for individuals and families, a number of zones with 40’ rows in vegetable production, washing and storage facilities, covered classroom space, a greenhouse, and numerous other amenities. The entire farm is an educational space for students and community members through field trips, service days, and training programs.
