The County Operations Trainee Program prepares candidates to become future County Executive Directors in one of our 30 locations throughout the state. A successful candidate for these positions possesses integrity, leadership, decisiveness, supervisory skills and is also willing to learn.
The Farm Service Agency mission is to deliver programs and services to farmers and ranchers to support them in sustaining our Nation’s vibrant agricultural economy. County Executive Directors provide insight in the delivery of FSA commodity, conservation and livestock programs to farmers and ranchers of California.
Experience in operating or managing a representative operation farm or ranch and bachelor’s degree in an Agriculture related field is a plus. Candidates shall have a knowledge of farming practices and customs (this is a requirement per National Handbook 27-PM, paragraph 480), and willing to travel throughout California.
