Flower Farm General Manager, Sales and Marketing


Zannah Farms is a flower farm located in the Laguna De Santa Rosa near Sebastopol, CA. We sell via onsite flower farm stand, farmers markets(tbd), small events, partner events, and farm tours.  Our values include aesthetics, connection, community, creativity, organic and sustainable practices. The farm is approximately 2 acres of planted flowers and greenery.

The General Manager reports directly to business owner. This is a fun fast-paced multi-functional position for the right energetic, creative, self-motivated, upbeat, positive, organized, customer-facing person who knows & loves flowers, floral design & customer service. This is a great opportunity to learn to start and run a business.

This role works closely with the owner to ensure high-quality farm business operations, marketing and sales, flower arranging, and support to farm owner.

The entry requirement for this job is some higher-level education, flower or business classes or certifications or at least 2 years relevant experience. This is full-time job with 5-6-day work weeks during the farm stand season. Weekend work IS a requirement from May to November. Approximate pay range $20 to $23 per hour depending on experience. All candidates must have a valid driver license, be a US Citizen, live within 15 minutes of 95401 zip code and pass a background and credit check.

Responsibilities Include:

Flower Farm Operations

Answer phones, return calls, book floral orders, delivery, and event work
Research and set up phone system, ordering system, and customer communications system
Assist the owner with mail, billing, invoice tracking and payment, budgeting
Troubleshooting office equipment
Track orders and deliveries
Create small scale event offerings and promote them
Create forms and processes for ordering and events
Coordinate event and rental schedules, bookings, and communication
Co Create and document crop plan Order seeds and bulbs as needed
Design flower arrangements for onsite farm stand, weddings, and events
Assist farmer with watering, seeding, harvest and planting as needed
May select, train, and supervise staff and contractors
Farm stand scheduling and merchandising

Marketing and Sales

Keep the farm website updated
Help find customers and increase sales
Social media and marketing on-line and for direct sales
Order business cards, marketing materials and signage
Manage customer communication, Instagram/Facebook posting

Research and develop flower product offerings

Drive and document pricing structure for floral offerings and events

Customer list management and communication

Email and phone marketing to florists, wholesale channels, gather, schools, etc…

Assistant to Owner

Support Owner as needed with personal and professional tasks
Mail intake and filing, bill paying, keeping office, flower shop and flower stand organized and cleaned up
Research & coordinate–travel, farm supplies, floral classes, designs, colors, etc…
Other misc. support

Must have skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, working knowledge of social media marketing, flower design experience, knowledge of flowers common names and characteristics, extremely organized and detailed, knowledge of google suite including google sheets/excel/word, excellent problem solver.
