CAFF's 2025 Policy Priorities

Family farmers are the backbone of our food system, but they face growing challenges from unfair markets, land loss, water scarcity, and climate disasters. CAFF’s 2025 Policy Platform outlines our priorities for California’s policymakers, which include the most pressing issues our farmers face and need to be addressed in this year’s legislative session.

This year’s core policy priorities were informed directly by farmers–this past fall we engaged nearly 500 California growers through regional meetings, a multilingual online survey, and one-on-one conversations to understand their biggest challenges.

Our Core Policy Priorities for 2025 are:

  • Just Economies for Family Farmers
  • Equitable Access to Land
  • Access to Water
  • Climate Resiliency and Disaster Relief
