ARE YOU A FRIEND OF THE FARMER?
“Eating is an agricultural act.” – Wendell Berry
California’s family farmers nourish our communities. But they can’t do it alone. To ensure a thriving local food system rooted in justice and regenerative agriculture, we each have an important roll to play.
Since 1978, CAFF has worked to unite growers and eaters, rural and urban, farmworkers and neighbors like you who care where their food comes from.
You might not be out working in the field, but by joining our “Friends of the Farmer” community, you’ll find opportunities to engage, learn, speak up, and help us grow a healthier, more sustainable California for all.
📬 What You’ll Receive
When you join the Friend of the Farmer email list, you’ll get:
Quarterly updates on California’s small farms and local food movement
Clear, accessible stories about what’s shaping our food future
Invitations to farm tours, volunteer opportunities, and community events
Alerts when it’s time to raise your voice for family farmers
Opportunities to contribute — through advocacy, showing up, or other ways to support
No industry jargon. No farming background needed. Just meaningful opportunities for each and every one of us to stay connected and make an impact.
