This year we are celebrating eleven years of the California Crunch!
The “CRUNCH!” heard across the state, the California Crunch is the annual event where children across the state take a collective bite of locally-grown fruits and vegetables to celebrate local farms and healthy eating!
The 11th Annual California Crunch is a kick-off celebration of Farm-to-School Month, and will be held on Wednesday, October 7th, 2026 at NOON. If you are unable to celebrate the Crunch on this date, we encourage you to choose a date and time that works for you.
Last year’s California Crunch included over 87 school districts and 14 partner organizations, reaching over 780,800 students. Will you help us grow that number in 2026?
Participants are offered local fruits or vegetables to bite into, all at the same time, for a simultaneous “CRUNCH!”, to inspire conversations about where their food comes from and to learn about food system sustainability. All registered institutions will receive the 2026 Event Guide, links to educational videos, CA Crunch stickers, and will be included in California Crunch promotions.
