Evan Wiig

Director of Membership & Communications

Santa Rosa, CA (Southern Pomo Territory)

Combining communications with community organizing, Evan is committed to promoting regenerative agriculture, local food, and social justice. As the Director of Membership & Communications, Evan works to amplify the stories of family farmers, share valuable resources with growers and food system advocates alike, and connect our members with CAFF’s many programs. From cattle ranches to urban gardens, over the past decade Evan has mucked chicken coops and met with legislators, organized countless farmer potlucks and produced large-scale festivals and conferences, and in 2011 he founded The Farmers Guild, a grassroots network advocating for a new generation of farmers, which in 2016 merged with CAFF. He currently sits on the Advisory Committees for Sustainable Ag programs at both the Santa Rosa JC and College of Marin, as well as for the Agricultural Preservation & Open Space District and the Sonoma County Food Systems Alliance, and writes journalism on issues of food and ag.
