CAFF'S 2024 Policy Priorities

CAFF'S 2024 Farmer Policy Platform

The priorities identified here are a direct result of an intensive farmer-listening process engaging nearly 600 food producers through a multilingual online survey, over a dozen regional meetings, and one-on-one conversations in fall 2023.

CAFF'S 2022 Policy Priorities

CAFF's 2022 policy priorities, guided by our statewide intensive listening process of surveys and farmer listening sessions, focused on several key issues described by farmers: equitable land access, small farmer and regional food supply infrastructure, and drought relief and water access.

CAFF'S 2023 Policy Priorities

Due to California’s budget deficit many of our 2023 priorities are focused on restoring budget cuts in Governor Newsom’s proposed budget which include inequitable reductions to programs aimed to support small and underserved farmers including Farm to Community Food Hubs Program, the Urban Agriculture Program, and the Beginning Farmer and Farmworker Training Program (BFFTP).

In addition to restoring the proposed budget cuts, we aim to focus on program implementation to ensure state programs provide maximum benefits for small-scale, beginning, and underserved food producers as well as new policies!
