CAFF Statement on Escalating ICE Raids & Constitutional Violations

Community Alliance with Family Farmers condemns the disturbing overreach of federal immigration enforcement and the pattern of raids, intimidation, and constitutional violations playing out across the country. The use of racial profiling, masked agents, and force against civilians—often without clear cause or due process—undermines basic civil liberties, spreads fear, and has now led to multiple killings.

These actions have especially devastating consequences in farming communities. Immigrants are farmers, farmworkers, organizers, business owners, neighbors, and family members—integral to our farms, our food system, and our shared civic life. Many are part of CAFF’s own community, including our members, partners, and staff. When people are targeted at home, at work, or in their neighborhoods—and when families are torn apart—it harms everyone while destabilizing the food systems we all rely on.

CAFF calls for an end to enforcement practices that violate constitutional rights and disregard human dignity. As stated in our newly-released 2026 Farmer Policy Platform, which we created after hearing from hundreds of California farmers, “CAFF calls on State and Federal Policymakers to support fair and just processes for those facing immigration action, and pathways to citizenship for these essential community members.”

A just, resilient food system is only possible when everyone is safe, respected, and free from state-sanctioned violence.
