Farmboy Organics is looking for people interested in local organic farming for part-time positions on our 54-acre certified organic farm in Winters. They will have a wide variety of tasks every day that are always changing with the seasons in a fast-paced environment. This is an all-weather outdoor/indoor position that requires intense and taxing effort on the body and mind.

Farmboy Organics is in its fifth year and leases four farms where it grows 10 acres of mixed vegetables along with three acres of citrus and two acres of olives. Most of the work will be focused on vegetable production with seasonal focus on citrus and olives.

Primary tasks will include weeding, transplanting, irrigating, harvesting and post-harvest handling. Additional tasks may include pruning, greenhouse work, and other duties as assigned.

Typical work days will consist of 8 hours per day with standard breaks and meal periods 2-3 days a week, 16-24 hours. Start time as early as 6am in the summer. Seasonal with potential for full-time employment and potential year round employment.

Desired experience and skills

1+ years experience working on a farm preferred but not required
Good communication and interpersonal skills: Active listener with empathetic, respectful communication
Able to safely lift 50 lbs.
Works well in a team and independent setting.
Perform repetitive tasks for hours which include standing, bending and kneeling.
Punctual and adaptable to the change of seasons.
Ability to speak Spanish is desired but not required.
