Farmboy Organics is a certified organic farm in Winters, California, stewarded by twin brothers Andrew and Eric Walker. We grow vegetables, citrus, fruit, and certified organic extra virgin olive oil. We are stewards of the land with deep care for the soil, environment and community.
Farmboy Organics is in it’s fifth year of operation, we lease land in four separate locations in Winters, CA, growing 10 acres of mixed vegetables, 3 acres of citrus, and 2 acres of olives. Most daily work is focused on vegetable production, with seasonal emphasis on citrus and olives.
Our products reach customers through the Davis Farmers Market, Davis Food Co-op, and local wholesale partners such as Spork Food Hub, Capay Valley Farm Shop, and Fruitqueen. We are a growing farm committed to high standards, organic integrity, and meaningful work.
We are currently hiring both full-time and part-time farm crew members.

Position Summary

Farmboy Organics is hiring a part-time farm crew member to support seasonal organic production on our diversified 54-acre operation in Winters, CA. Part-time crew members support seasonal planting and harvest operations. This position carries the same physical demands and standards as full-time roles.

This role is fast-paced and physically demanding. The right candidate must be prepared to do a wide variety of manual labor task, outdoors, in all weather, every day, for long periods of time. Tasks change with the seasons and require both mental focus and sustained physical effort. Farming is not easy, but it is rewarding.

This is a seasonal position, with the potential for expanded hours or transition to full-time, year-round employment based on performance and farm needs.

 

Schedule
2–3 days per week
16–24 hours weekly
8-hour shifts
Start time as early as 6:00 AM during summer

Primary Responsibilities
Weeding and cultivation
Transplanting and planting
Irrigation setup and monitoring
Harvesting and post-harvest handling
Packing and quality control
Greenhouse support
Seasonal pruning (citrus and olives)
General farm maintenance
Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications
1+ year of farm work experience preferred (not required)
Good communication and interpersonal skills: Active listener with empathetic, respectful communication
Comfortable performing repetitive physical tasks (standing, bending, kneeling)
Ability to safely lift 50 lbs repeatedly
Works effectively both independently and on a team
Perform repetitive tasks for hours which include standing, bending and kneeling.
Punctual and able to handle workload changes
Adaptable to the change of seasons.
Punctual and adaptable to seasonal
Spanish language skills a plus

Compensation
Up to $20/hour depending on experience
