Part-Time/Full Time Farmer’s Market Associate

COMPENSATION

● Pay: $22 / hour

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

● 1+ year of Customer Service experience

● 1+ year of Sales experience

What you’ll be doing in this role… Under the direction of the Farmer’s Market Manager, the Market Associate works to achieve the company’s objectives in the sales of fruit, vegetables, herbs, flowers, honey, and eggs produced by our farm property.

Specifically, you’ll be:

● Selling Umbel Roots produce at Farmer’s Markets across the Bay Area

● Setting up and Breaking down Farmer’s Market stand (this includes a tent, tables, signage, produce, etc).

● Loading the van with prepared produce, and driving to the market location

● Speaking to community members about the produce, our farm in general, and our farming practices

● Engaging with chefs by fulfilling pre-orders, speaking about the farm’s upcoming harvests, and other various on-goings of the farm

● Consistently adhering to Umbel Roots high standards of customer service, brand standards, communication with peers and management

● Able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, push/pull, crouch, crawl, reach with hands and arms, and frequently lift up to 50

● Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills

ENVIRONMENTAL AND/OR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

● Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely and successfully with federal, state, and local standards

● Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

● Ability to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods of time

● Ability to physically maneuver through work areas; bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, climb stairs and steps, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment

● We grow vegetables year round, so we also participate in markets year round (this means we’ll show up, rain or shine!)
