The 39th Annual California Small Farm Conference is coming in late February 2027 and we’re already getting ready to bring together the farmers, food advocates, researchers, educators, and community leaders who make California’s small-scale agriculture thrive. What to Expect
For nearly four decades, the California Small Farm Conference has served as the state’s premier gathering for small-scale and diversified farmers, direct-market producers, and advocates of sustainable agriculture. Created by and for farmers, the conference centers community leadership, practical skill-building, and the exchange of real-world knowledge.
Each year, the conference features:
50+ virtual workshops
covering farm production, soil health, business management, water and land stewardship, ag policy, and much more
10+ in-person gatherings
from San Diego to Humboldt, designed to connect local farm communities and foster place-based collaboration
Topic tracks
tailored to farmers’ market professionals, Spanish-speaking farmers, and many other community members
Sliding-scale registration
to ensure farmers of all backgrounds can participate

About the Conference
For nearly four decades, the California Small Farm Conference has brought together the people who grow our food, advocate for fair farm policies, and work to build more resilient local food systems. It’s a space to learn, connect, and recommit to the collective work ahead.
Organized by Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF), the conference reflects CAFF’s mission to build sustainable food systems, strengthen family farms, and promote ecological agriculture across California.
