Farmers Market Assistant
We are seeking a reliable, energetic, and customer-focused Farmers Market Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, engaging with the community, and has a passion for fresh, local produce. Someone who is dependable, hardworking, and brings positive energy to the team and loves working weekends 🙂
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with loading and unloading market supplies, produce, and equipment
- Set up and break down the market booth, ensuring an organized and visually appealing display
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, answering questions, and promoting products
- Handle sales transactions accurately using basic math skills (cash handling, making change, totaling purchases)
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the shift
Support inventory tracking and restocking during market hours
Qualifications:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable standing and working on your feet for extended periods
- Strong basic math skills for handling transactions
- Friendly, outgoing, and customer-service oriented
- Enthusiasm for vegetables, local food systems, and farmers markets
- Sales experience is a plus, but not required
