Brandon Wickes

Organic Project Contractor

Southern California

Brandon has been farming organically for approximately 15 years, beginning almost immediately after graduating from university with a degree in Environmental Studies. In his 15 years of farming, Brandon has farmed in California, Oregon, Washington state, New York state, and in Canada. In 2015, Brandon co-founded a draft horse-powered vegetable and cut flower farm in Washington state, which he co-operated for approximately three years. In 2017, Brandon made the difficult decision to leave the business behind and relocate to Northern California to be closer to family there. While in Northern California, Brandon managed a 50-acre diversified vegetable and cut flower operation on the coast. In 2020, Brandon made yet another challenging decision to relocate to Southern California to be closer to his aging parents, and raise his son near the same beaches he grew up playing and surfing at. In early 2025, Brandon was hired by CAFF, and is currently serving in the role of Organic Project Contractor, assisting CAFF with implementing various organic projects.

In addition to Farming, Gardening, and Cooking, Brandon enjoys surfing, hiking, rock climbing, mountaineering, skiing, bicycle riding, and skateboarding in his free time. His current greatest passion and joy in life is introducing his son to all of these activities.
