Sasha is a PhD candidate in Geography at UC Davis who is originally from Mendoza, Argentina and a native Spanish speaker. Her work is driven by a commitment to equity, justice and ecological sustainability in the food system. Her dissertation research explores how direct-to-market farmers in California are navigating the growing trend towards online sales and marketing. She holds a BA in Environmental Science and BS in Geography from Stetson University, and a M.A. in Geography from UC Davis. She has also spent some time volunteering, working, and learning on community gardens and agroecological farms in various parts of the world. In her free time, she enjoys long walks in nature, drawing, and connecting with friends and family.
