“How to Tell the Story of Your Farm” in-person workshop & panel discussion with Brian and Joyce of Fruitqueen and Eric and Andrew of Farmboy Organics. Facilitated by Judith Redmond (Full Belly Farm) and Gisele Herren (Vitis & Ovis Farm), and joined by David Visher (CAFF Board of Directors), Claire Tauber, Michelle Duong, and Lan Ngo (CAFF).
At this in-person workshop, farmers participated in a panel discussion with Fruitqueen , a specialty fruit and produce distributor in the Bay Area, and farmers Eric and Andrew from Farmboy Organics. In a lively discussion, we explored how farmers can effectively tell their farm story, what makes a compelling farm story, and why it’s so important for both direct sales and selling to distributors.
Key Takeaways:
There is a strong desire for people to connect with their farmers. We acknowledge this takes time, through social media & email newsletters, but there is significant marketing value to it, and there are ways to streamline the process, particularly by focusing on what really matters to your customer (fresh, healthy, local, delicious produce!)
